Rivian, an electric vehicle manufacturer, unveiled two “Electric Adventure Vehicles”—the R1T, an all-electric pickup and the R1S, an all-electric SUV—at events surrounding the LA Auto Show this week. Founded in 2009 by RJ Scaringe, Rivian develops and produces vehicles, products and services related to sustainabletransportation.
Audi, which is a subsidiary of Volkswagen, has been manufacturing the Audi Q5, a compact SUV, in the state of Puebla, Mexico since 2016. Such a goal is conservative relative to the targets of pure EV makers like Tesla , but it is a step towards sustainabletransportation. A hybrid variant was later introduced as well.
