the air district will demonstrate specially designed battery electric taxis that can use switchable batteries to give the vehicles essentially unlimited range. Two battery switching stations, at the international airports in San Francisco and SanJose, and six taxis that use switchable batteries will be used.
Southwest Airlines and Archer Aviation have announced a partnership to develop plans for electric air taxi networks that will use Archer’s electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft at California airports where Southwest has a presence. The additional vertiports will likely be located in Napa, SanJose, Oakland and Livermore.
The company is also producing a US variant of the conference in SanJose, California in November. For example, the new IDTechEx report, “Electric Buses and Taxis 2011-2021” forecasts more than 91,000 hybrid electric buses being made in 2021. There will be an investment session and an awards dinner.
