The dedicated battery assembly workshops are in five plants of the Stellantis Group: Vigo & Saragossa (Spain), Trnava (Slovakia), Sochaux & Mulhouse (France) and soon Hordain (France). The New 408 will come with two Plug-In hybrid powertrains, 180hp and 225hp from its launch. 90 minutes are necessary for the larger 75kWh units.

The system stores sustainably generated electricity in used batteries that come from the all-electric SUV ŠKODA ENYAQ iV as well as the plug-in hybrid models SUPERB iV and OCTAVIA iV. So far, 160 pre-orders have been received from dealers in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Slovakia.

Porsche will manufacture the future all-electric version of the fourth-generation Cayenne at Volkswagen Slovakia’s multi-brand location in Bratislava. Since then, the site has produced models with combustion engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains. That model will be produced at the Porsche factory in Leipzig.

According to provisional data published by the European Environment Agency (EEA), the average CO 2 emissions from new passenger cars registered in the European Union (EU) in 2018 increased for the second consecutive year, reaching 120.4 grams of CO 2 per kilometer. For the first time, the average CO 2 emissions from new vans also increased.
