Joule and Red Rock Biofuels intend to merge; solar fuels plus biomass F-T

Joule, a pioneer in producing liquid fuels from recycled CO 2 , and Red Rock Biofuels, a leading developer of renewable jet and diesel fuel bio-refineries using the Fischer-Tropsch process, announced that they intend to merge. The company is poised to begin construction of its first refinery located in Lakeview, Oregon in early 2016.

USDA approves $99M, 80% loan guarantee to Chemtex to support development of cellulosic ethanol from energy grasses

Once operational, the facility is expected to convert 600,000 tons of energy grasses per year into an estimated 20 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol using the Beta Renewable’s PROESA enzymatic hydrolysis process.
