With rising gasoline prices, I believe the demand for freeway capable electric vehicles is going to increase over the next few years. While people can purchase neighborhood electric vehicles today for about $10K, they only have a top speed of 35 miles an hour or so, essentially glorified golf-carts.

The premiere was held at the Goldstein Residence, an early 1960s residence with expansive views set into a hillside in LA’s Beverly Crest neighborhood. Prices and final trim specifications will be released closer to its on-sale date. Cargo volume is 21.9 cubic feet behind the third row, and 46.7 cu ft with the third row folded away.

In less than four months, Maven, General Motors’ personal mobility brand ( earlier post ), has grown to five markets: New York City, Ann Arbor, Mich., In Chicago, the Maven City car sharing program is now in operation, with pricing starting at $8 an hour including insurance and fuel. and is adding Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
