Wind noise was mostly well-muted though it could be heard from the A-pillars at highway speeds. The powertrain does make a bit of EV-type noise at speeds under about 30 mph. I am curious to how this thing handles the pockmarks, potholes, and craters of Midwest roads. Tire noise was non-existent.

Usually, convertible versions of sports coupes suffer from chassis flex and wind/road noise and the like, but this car doesn’t, at least for the most part – you might get some chassis flex when hitting a severe enough bump, but it’s rare. Apparently, that streak has come to an end with the new Fucare Gemini X Sport Dual Motor Dual Battery electric bike, which throws reason to the wind with so much power and speed that you can’t really call it much of an electric ‘bicycle’ anymore. There are other compromises too, such as the extreme weight of the bike, pushing 99 lb (45 kg).
The version that Clean Fleet Report tested was the mid-range EV6 RWD “Wind” trim. The Wind and GT-Line versions also have decent towing capacity of 2,300 lbs. For highway driving along with the super quiet ride (60 dBA @ 70 mph) it was enjoyable and never fatiguing. Under the little frunk are some powerful motors.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Our drive route mixed rural Michigan roads and fast Interstate traffic up to 80 mph. I like to get drive impressions from my wife for some of the cars I review. This is saying something, as she has ridden in or driven many of the 800+ cars I have reviewed for Clean Fleet Report over the past 10 years. Each of these are excellent all-electric SUVs (check out review links at the end of this story.
As a test, part of those miles were driven with the cruise control set at 65 mph where we averaged 44 mpg, and at 60 mph resulting in 51.4 Fuel economy numbers reported by Clean Fleet Report are non-scientific and represent the reviewer’s driving experience using the dash gauge computer. Some good surprises on the road.
The racing is rough, taking place on custom-designed dirt tracks with plenty of sharp turns, berms, the traditional Joker Lap pass and 100-foot gap jumps, all at speeds of more than 100 mph. Even with winter tires mounted, road noise wasn’t bad until you started getting above 130 km/h or so (that’s 80 MPH for Electrek’s American readers), and wind noise, even at very high speeds, was surprisingly tame. At 160 km/h (around 100 mph), the Polestar 2 was consuming an eye-popping 30 kWh / 100km.
This review reflects the features and equipment on the SE, occasionally noting upgrades available on the XSE and XSE Premium.
