Hyundai Motor will hand over 60 ix35 Fuel Cell cars to the Paris-based electric taxi start-up STEP (Société du Taxi Electrique Parisien). A memorandum of understanding to that effect was signed at the opening of a public hydrogen fuel station operated by Air Liquide at Hyundai Motor’s European headquarters in Offenbach, Germany.

Renault Samsung Motors (RSM) is loaning ten SM3 Z.E. earlier post ) sedans to Seoul City for free so that members of the Seoul Taxi Association and their passengers can discover the benefits of using an electric vehicle for taxi work. Free use of the cars is just part of the campaign, which runs until April 2015.

The City of Bogota, Colombia, has launched a pilot project to spur the use of electric vehicles in Bogota’s center-city taxi fleet. The first taxis are expected to be operational in the city in the next few months. Bogota’s project will improve local air quality and noise pollution.
