We first wrote about the Triac three-wheel electric vehicle back in 2010. Made by Green Vehicles of Salinas, California, it touted a 100-mile range, an 80 mph top speed, and a price tag of $25,000. Some curious vehicles have emerged on the electric vehicle market over the years, and few have been more curious than the Triac.

The Morgan Motor Company is launching the three-wheeled Morgan EV3 , the company’s first production electric vehicle, at the Geneva Motor Show. Early indications suggest a minimum 0-62 mph time of less than 9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 90 mph (145 km/h).

Due to its three-wheeled design, the GT3 is classified as a motorcycle. Top speed is 70 mph (113 km/h) and the expected range per charge is 80-100 miles. Click to enlarge. The EV features a multi-link, dual-shock rear suspension. GT3 will be priced between $35,000 and $42,000.

As a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve wanted to sneak stories about two-wheeled transportation onto this website. Despite having seen them around for years, they were models I had long assumed would be marginally better than the atrocious three-wheeled motorcycles offered by Harley-Davidson.
