Latest EPA automotive trend report shows MY 2017 fleet fuel economy of 24.9 mpg; new record

This year’s report shows all manufacturers are in compliance with the standards. Most large manufacturers used banked credits, along with technology improvements, to maintain compliance in model year 2017. Only three large manufacturers complied based on the technology levels of their vehicles alone: Honda, Subaru and BMW.

Renault presents the 235 mpg EOLAB prototype; plug-in “Z.E. Hybrid”; targeting production

EOLAB delivers NEDC combined cycle fuel consumption of 1 liter/100 km (235 mpg US), equivalent to 22g of CO 2 /km. To achieve this, Renault collaborated with French automotive industry partners such as car glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain, seat supplier Faurecia, tire company Michelin and Continental (brake system).

Hyundai unveils 2021 Elantra and Elantra Hybrid; 50 MPG EPA-estimated combined rating on the first Elantra Hybrid
