On Monday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti released his version of a Green New Deal (LAGND). The LA Green New Deal seeks to “zero out” Los Angeles’ main sources of harmful emissions: buildings, transportation, electricity, and trash. Electrify 10% of taxi fleet by 2022 and 100% by 2028.
Toyota, Lexus drivers in New York City to get free EV charging in deal with Revel Transit – Charged EVs

Toyota Motor and Revel , an operator of an EV taxi service and a network of high-speed charging stations, have signed an agreement that will give owners of Toyota and Lexus EVs complimentary access to Revel’s DC fast charging network in New York City. The agreement runs through October 14, 2027.
Waymo starts fully autonomous rides in LA tomorrow; Austin later this year

Waymo has announced that it will start offering fully autonomous ride-hailing services to the general public in Los Angeles starting tomorrow, March 14th, and that Austin, Texas will open up “later this year.” In this case, Waymo’s limitation means it’s geofenced to a particular service area.

Paris almost had Drone Air Taxis available for the Olympics but alas… The result: Getting around Paris is easy, fun, quiet and clean Hats off to mayor Anne Hidalgo who set many of these programs in motion. There were also plenty of Ubers/taxis available and late night buses if bikes weren’t available. Nice to have options.
