Along with other national leaders in the PHEV movement, including Dr. Andy Frank and Mark Duvall of EPRI , I spoke to the need to fund battery research and demonstration vehicles. but it has grown far beyond this point.

Plug-ins would simple be either pure EVs or PHEVs, and hopefully tapping into homegrown American electrons for the drive to have America energy independence once again. This Educational Tour will be in, as mentioned, the All American "Spirit of DC" - Toyota Prius PHEV, which has been demonstrating the goal of 101 MPG, assisted by electricity.

Georg also enlisted the help of University of Iowa computer programmer/engineer Karen Pease. This converted Toyota Prius is another type of Plug-in --a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). The EVADC chapter became the lead sponsor of an EVducational Tour, called the "Spirit of DC" PHEV All Around America.
