LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) is launching the VN5, its new electric light commercial van. Based on the same architecture and proven eCity range-extender technology as LEVC’s TX electric taxi, a pure EV range of over 58 miles (93 km) and a total flexible range of more than 300 miles (484 km) can be achieved.

A team of researchers at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has used a vehicle dynamics model to evaluate the trade-off between automation and electric vehicle range and battery longevity. They found that automation will likely reduce electric vehicle range by 5–10% for suburban driving and by 10–15% for city driving. Mohan et al.

Israeli startup EVR Motors has partnered with India’s EKA Mobility, an electric vehicles and technology company, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries Limited, to design small, lightweight electric motors for their e-buses and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) in India. The partnership with EKA is EVR’s third collaboration agreement in India.

Groupe Renault is setting a new strategy for China, based on Electric Vehicles (EV) and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV). The Renault City K-ZE, introduced in 2019, was the sixth all-electric vehicle in the Renault range. With 860,000 electric vehicles sold in China in 2019, China is by far the largest EV market in the world.
