Update: The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services also confirmed to Teslarati that it will purchase 250 Model 3 units for the New York City fleet. The contract for the Mustang Mach-E has been finalized. This is why the Model 3s were not included in the press release.

The contract is part of $2.45 billion that will be invested on the heavily traveled Northeast Corridor (NEC) as part of a multifaceted modernization program to renew and expand the Acela Express service. The first prototype of the new trainsets will be ready in 2019, with the first trainset entering revenue service in 2021.

The acid gas from the amine unit, as well as light products produced containing unacceptable levels of sulfur, can then be treated with a proprietary liquid reduction-oxidation process that converts H 2 S to elemental sulfur. The city transitioned its fleets from petroleum diesel as part of its low-cost strategy to meet sustainability goals.
