The all-new Kia Niro CUV made its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show. The 2023 Niro will launch in the United States with three electrified powertrains: hybrid electric (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric (EV). A 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard in HEV and PHEV.

Kia introduced the 2018 Niro Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) ( earlier post ) to the US market at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Niro PHEV pairs an all-aluminum 1.6-liter While the Niro PHEV boasts an MPGe rating of 105, its EPA-estimated MPG ratings of 48 mpg city, 44 mpg highway and 46 mpg/combined are similar to those of Niro hybrid.
