Karma on Friday unveiled the Ivara concept at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, one of the premier events of 2024 Monterey Car Week that ran last week in California. Joining it on Karma's stand were the previously revealed Kaveya sports car and Gyesera sport sedan.
Of the 11 PHEVs: 10 are extended range electric vehicles—Toyota’s concept Prius PHEV is the only non-series hybrid plug-in. 9 (82%) are production prototypes or concepts; only the Fisker Karma and Karma-S are in production or near production. Of the 42 vehicles, 11 (26%) are plug-in hybrids, the remainder are EVs.
Fisker Automotive will debut the first factory-built Karma plug-in hybrid (PHEV) at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Fisker Automotive introduced the Karma as a concept in January 2008. The 300 kW (403 hp/408 PS) Karma reaches 100 km/h in 5.9 100 km (100 mpg) and emissions of 83 g/km, according to the company.
The Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) ( earlier post ) will make its public driving debut during the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races on 15 August, 19 months after being unveiled as a concept car. It will be the first time a PHEV has appeared on track at the event. 260 hp (194 kW) Ecotec engine from GM.
The Fisker Karma plug-in extended range electric vehicle ( earlier post ) made its public driving debut over the weekend, 19 months after being introduced as a concept. The Fisker Karma can reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in six seconds and has a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). Carbon emissions are also lower than today’s hybrids.

Last night I flipped on the KTLA 5 news around 10:30pm, while grabbing a late dinner, and caught a Fisker Automotive Karma ad…on TV! I was caught completely and pleasantly by surprise seeing this great ad, as I don’t think we’ve yet seen any other EV/PHEV specific ads from any of the smaller start-ups.

A123 Systems has entered a battery supply agreement with Fisker Automotive to supply battery systems for the Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The Karma—an extended-range electric vehicle—is scheduled to be launched in late 2010. A123’s technology will ensure the Karma delivers.
