It’s going to be the theme of just about every Wrangler (and Ford Bronco, for that matter) review that I write – these off-road rigs are quite annoying on road but that’s OK because that’s the point. But if you have the scratch and the access to juice, it makes a strong argument for itself. They’re supposed to be.

Also, to speed up with cruise on, a light tap of the “+” button was supposed to increase speed a single km/h at a tap, a harder tap was to go up 10 km/h. Many times, when I’d try to do a few single-digit light taps (say to go up 3 km/h), the van thought I was mashing the + button and wanted to go up 30 km/h.

It just worked out that this week happens to be 3-series week here at The Mighty Mighty TTAC, as Tim reviewed the baby brother 330i this week as well. No, it’s no burgundy velour or light-green vinyl, but this red leather interior is quite handsome. It has all the juice, and it’s worth the squeeze. No, it’s not a pure-bred M3.

Extra lighting helps. The scourge of so-called high efficiency lighting seems to be largely in the past, with those infernal compact fluorescent bulbs finally falling out of favor in many parts of the country. That makes our continued recommendation of Barrina lights – no paid ads here, by the way; just appreciation of a great product.

The X-Pro Sportage is for “light” off-roading while the hybrid is for urban and suburban commuters, and it’s well-suited to that role. The juice is supplied by a 1.49 You might remember that when yours truly flew to California last year to drive the 2023 Kia Sportage, I didn’t get to spend more than five minutes in the hybrid version.

That was predictable using the standard outlets in my building – the computer measured charging time in days not hours – but even using a nearby Level II I found that the truck needed a couple of hours to get a decent amount of juice. Ford shows an 8-hour 15 to 100 percent charging time on an 80A Level II, and that seems about right.
