Sanmar launches first LNG tug

Turkey-based Sanmar has launched the first Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) fueled escort tug from its construction hall into the waters of Tuzla Bay near Istanbul. It will then enter service on a long term charter with Statoil ASA, the international energy company, and Gassco, the operator of the gas transportation network off the Norwegian coast.

Global CO2 emissions stalled for the third year in a row

Emissions from international transport (aviation and shipping) contribute another 3% to the total global GHG emissions. Also in Eurasia emissions grew in Turkey (5%) and Ukraine (8%). India does not show yet any decoupling of their emissions growth from their economic growth, unlike Brazil, where emissions fell by 6%.
