Sales of passenger vehicles in India grew to more than 1.9 from the prior year, according to figures from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. Mopeds, Scooters and Motorcycles grew by 30.9%, 27.40 million units in FY 2009 (April 2009-March 2010), up 25.6% Passenger car sales grew by 25.1% in this period.
