In addition, it will be possible to recharge it by means of a plug-in charging outlet (as is the case in standard electric buses). In the new hybrid bus, electric energy propelling the vehicle will be derived from hydrogen, whereas the battery will only have a support function. The battery will be charged with power from the fuel cell.

If successful, the new record will apply to all cars, including hybrid and electric models. The car which attempts the record must be a standard model in every respect, with no modifications to give an advantage. This will be judged by an independent witness at the beginning and end of the record attempt.
