The XJ_e plug-in hybrid. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will display the XJ_e plug-in hybrid engineering research vehicle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The XJ_e demonstrates how an advanced parallel plug-in hybrid design can deliver reductions in CO 2 emissions of more than 70%, without compromising vehicle performance.

Both engines have 48-volt mild hybrid electrification that adds up-to an additional 21 hp and 184 lb.-ft. In 274 miles of driving through Southern California and using the air conditioning at most times, we averaged 27 mpg, but on a 150-mile all-freeway run using the adaptive cruise control set to 65 mph, we averaged 32.8 inches long.

Clean Fleet Report would not be surprised if Genesis has even more SUVs on the drawing board, with most of them being hybrids, plug-in hybrids or EVs.
