Ford, Honda, and BMW have announced plans to create a new “vehicle-to-grid company” that’s aimed at standardizing vehicle charging via a singular platform. The service also seeks to return excess energy to the electrical grid, effectively converting EVs into publicly shared batteries.

Only PHEVs and battery EVs get cleaner as they get older - because the electric grid gets cleaner every decade. The high demand for the Honda Civic hybrid tell us its at least $3,000.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) estimates that the current power grid could handle many tens of millions of cars plugging in at off-peak hours before wed have any capacity issues [See EPRI article PDF ].
