From the sale of the first RX 400h in 2005 through to the end of November this year, Lexus has sold more than 506,000 of its hybrid vehicles. In 2005, 26,000 Lexus hybrids were sold; by 30 November this year the annual total was at 113,000. Today, hybrids account for about 25% of all Lexus sales. RX 400h/450h.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lexus introduced the fourth model—and the second hybrid—in the GS range, the GS 300h hybrid, which will be launched at the end of 2013. The new GS 300h is equipped with a second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system similar to that installed in the IS 300h.

Annual global sales of TMC hybrids. Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has cumulatively sold more than 2 million hybrid vehicles since the launch in 1997 in Japan of the Coaster Hybrid EV in August and the Prius in December. On May 31, 2007, the global cumulative sales of TMC’s hybrid vehicles had topped 1 million.

Sales of hybrid-electric vehicles in the UK have steadily risen over the past five years, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Of that number of hybrids, 77,000 were Toyota or Lexus cars. Of that number of hybrids, 77,000 were Toyota or Lexus cars.

Toyota has hit the millionth sale milestone for its hybrids in Europe with the delivery of an Auris hybrid to a driver in Germany. Hybrid sales already account for 23% of Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME’s) total sales year-to-date. Two-thirds of the hybrid sales in Europe are made in Europe.

Reported sales of hybrids. Reported sales of light-duty hybrids in the US dropped 29% by volume in February year-on-year to 16,020 units. The decline in hybrids was less than the 41% decline in the overall light-duty vehicle market for the month. New hybrid sales represented 2.3% of all GS models.
