In June, Plug In Carolina selected AeroVironment to supply, install and support a network of public electric vehicle stations in seven South Carolina cities. Plug-ins such as the Volt and LEAF will be able to use the Evatran system with an adapter. Among those exhibiting were: Aerovironment. Aerovironment’s home charging dock.

The Focus is supposed to get 100 miles to a charge, but Frank is very worried about where people are going to plug in their cars. Frank didn’t mention anything about the different cities like Portland and San Jose to name a couple who are building the first wave of plug in infrastructure.

The CEC proposed awarding nine grants this year under this particular program (Solicitation PON-10-602, Regional Plans to Support Plug-In Electric Vehicle Readiness.) The council will help promote the use of plug-in electric vehicles in the San Diego area and create a set of consistent best management practices to simplify their introduction.
