I’m talking about Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) , the official term for what many people call Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs). The cost of one single solitary gallon of gasoline would put around 200 to 300 miles of range into that Eli Zero, for example. Err, actually, I probably shouldn’t call them “cars”.

While people can purchase neighborhood electric vehicles today for about $10K, they only have a top speed of 35 miles an hour or so, essentially glorified golf-carts. With rising gasoline prices, I believe the demand for freeway capable electric vehicles is going to increase over the next few years.
