After they were installed earlier this summer, the new chargers went live this month. When a vehicle is not plugged in, the system will funnel energy into the grid to use elsewhere. Hope’s director for the Office of Sustainability, Michelle Seppala Gibbs, explained, “It’s tied to the grid, so it will all go right into the building.”
