The day was split between a morning session at the GM tech center in Warren and an afternoon session at the GM proving grounds in Milford, MI. If you’ve been wondering just how real the new Chevy Volt that gets 230 mpg in city driving is , well just take a look for yourself. This one might actually get MORE than 230 mpg in the city seeing as how it has no doors, windows, seats, any interior, hood, roof, underbody or trunk. At least GM did a Disney display.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.
