Starting today, July 7, Rhode Islanders who want to purchase or lease an electric vehicle (EV) are eligible to receive a rebate from the newly re-instated DRIVE EV program. This is big news for drivers who are tired of paying $5 per gallon of gasoline and are ready to buy a car that’s much better for the climate.

Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with Telsa Motors to develop the electric B-Class.

The governors of 8 states—California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont—have signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) to take specific actions to put 3.3 US electric car sales in 2012 more than tripled to about 52,000 from 17,000 in 2011.

Until the ban takes effect, New Jersey will limit the amount of new gasoline-powered cars sold in the state starting in 2027. Despite the impending ban, New Jersey will not prohibit the ownership or use of gasoline-powered cars or force consumers to buy electric cars. Consumers may still purchase used gasoline-powered vehicles.
