Toyota introduced the next-generation three-row 2020 Highlander SUV at the New York International Auto Show. Arriving in Toyota dealerships in winter, the Highlander gasoline model will arrive in December 2019 and the Highlander Hybrid will make its way to customers in February 2020.

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander goes on sale in the US this summer with three available powertrains across three grades: the 2.4L turbo gasoline engine, the 2.5L hybrid, and the 362 hp Hybrid MAX. The gasoline engine delivers 265 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 7.5 The Hybrid MAX powertrain also has 5,000 lbs.

New analysis of the latest IHS Markit new vehicle registration data in the US indicates vehicles with a hybrid powertrain (both gasoline and electricity) are out-performing EVs, based on several metrics. In April, hybrids accounted for 6.1% of all new vehicles registered, more than double EVs’ share of 2.4%.
