A team from Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar has comprehensively reviewed various ammonia decomposition techniques to produce clean hydrogen by recovering the boil-off ammonia while integrating solar energy infrastructures onboard a ship for electricity and heat requirements. The review paper is published in the journal Fuel.

Qatar Petroleum (QP) and UOP LLC, a Honeywell company, have signed a joint research agreement on “Process Optimization of CO 2 and Sulfur Components Removal from Natural Gases.” QP develops/operates onshore and offshore oil and gas fields in Qatar, including exploration, field development, production, refining, transport, and storage.

Shell announced the production of the first clear base oil—the main component of motor oils—made from natural gas using its gas-to-liquids (GTL) PurePlus Technology. Shell PurePlus Technology base oil is manufactured at the Pearl GTL facility in Ras Laffan in Qatar, a partnership between Qatar Petroleum and Shell.
