Along with the Energy Commission grant, Mission Motor Company will provide match funding of $623,581 to create an assembly facility in downtown San Francisco that should be capable of producing 30,000 battery packs and motor control systems each year by 2015, creating as many as 100 jobs. The new all-electric trucks will operate from distribution centers located throughout California: Alameda, City of Industry, La Mirada, Manteca, San Diego, San Jose and Torrance. In the US, Frito-Lay hopes to reduce its total fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by 50 pe%ent by 2020, compared to a 2007 baseline.

Dispensed from Chevron terminals in Sacramento and San Jose, the fuel did not contain adequate amounts of ethanol. Higher levels of olefin mean more smog will be formed from tailpipe emissions since hydrocarbons, including olefin, react with sunlight and other pollutants to form smog.

Each location is regularly supplied with Neste MY Renewable Diesel, a low-carbon fuel produced from 100% renewable and sustainable raw materials that cuts greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to petroleum diesel. The four new fueling stations join existing Neste-branded fuel stations in San Leandro, San Jose, Keyes and Ripon.

The survey results show that very low support levels for a one-time gas-tax increase or a new mileage tax can be raised by modifying how the tax is structured and the way it is described. As another example, 62% of respondents would support a gas tax increase of $0.10 per gallon gas-tax increase with no additional information given.
