XL launches PHEV Ford F-250; 50% improvement in fuel economy

XL unveiled its plug-in hybrid electric Ford Super Duty F-250 pickup truck ( earlier post ) at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. The energy is then transferred back into the drivetrain through an electric motor which helps propel the vehicle during acceleration, reducing fuel consumption, CO 2 emissions and brake wear.

US DOE Awards $300 Million in Clean Cities Grants to Support Alternative Fuels, Vehicles, and Infrastructure Development
