The Sustainable Bioenergy Research Consortium ( SBRC ), affiliated with the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, will test these findings in a project that could support biofuel crop production in arid countries, such as the UAE. Both crops would be converted into aviation biofuel using SBRC research findings.

A water electrolysis plant as well as a facility for sustainable ammonia production are planned to be constructed at KIZAD in Abu Dhabi, UAE, based on thyssenkrupp technology. It will be the first commercial plant to produce CO 2 -free green ammonia from renewable resources in the UAE.
