This week, the company announced plans to start testing in Miami, Florida, and Austin, Texas, as it looks to begin commercial ride-hailing operations in the cities it’s already established in. This past March, Zoox offered an update to its robotaxi taxi operations in its current cities, expanding operational hours and routes.

In early 2025, the company will begin testing its Jaguar I-PACE vehicles in Tokyo, with plans to stay in the region for the foreseeable future. Waymo announced that it is partnering with Japanese taxi company Nihon Kotsu for the initial phase, where human drivers will operate Waymos cars so that the software can map the city.
