Porsche launched its first fully electric car, the Taycan, in 2019. With nearly 42,300 Taycan’s sold in 2021, Porsche’s electric vehicle sales more than doubled.

The company has also received 160 pre-orders for the power hubs from its dealers in Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands and Slovakia. The power hubs can hold up to 20 batteries from various Skoda plug-in hybrid models (Superb iV and Octavia iV) or five batteries from its fully electric Enyaq iV.

The current Cayenne models, which have been on sale since the 2019 model year and given an update for 2024, will be given further updates to keep them fresh alongside the newer electric version which is expected to start sales in 2026, likely as a 2027 model in the U.S. It’s where the current gas and hybrid Cayennes are built.
