Chevrolet and GMC have confirmed a new eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard on 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon Denali/Yukon XL Denali models equipped with the 6.2L As with other EcoTec3 engines, it seamlessly switches to four-cylinder operation under lighter loads to improve fuel economy.

Icom North America, a developer and manufacturer of liquid-injection propane (autogas) systems for commercial and consumer vehicles, has received 17 new US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certifications for its patented JTG II Propane Liquid Injection bi-fuel systems. The GMC-brand vehicles include Sierra, Yukon and Savana vans.

Size was not an issue, since UCS awarded high ratings to vehicles ranging from compact cars to luxury sedans to full-sized SUVs. Hybrids don’t have to be luxury vehicles.
