PACCAR will work with Cummins to offer the new Cummins X15N natural gas engine ( earlier post ) in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. The engine will include the integration of the Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies fuel delivery system. The new X15N is capable of lower NO x levels than the 2024 EPA and CARB standards.

will supply all-electric drivetrain systems for two Peterbilt vehicle platforms through its alliance with TransPower. These include 12 Peterbilt all-electric Class 8 Model 579 day cab tractors and three Model 520 refuse trucks. Two 520 refuse haulers will be tested by Sacramento County and a waste hauler will operate one truck.

has chosen Eaton to participate in its SuperTruck program to develop a next-generation automated transmission that improves fuel efficiency in heavy-duty trucks. Cummins recently received $39 million in funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop its SuperTruck project in conjunction with Peterbilt Motors Company.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) will award more than $187 million to nine projects to improve fuel efficiency for heavy-duty trucks and passenger vehicles. The remaining six projects totaling more than $71 million will support efforts to increase the fuel economy for passenger vehicle engines and powertrain systems. 38,831,115.
