kWh Billing and New EV Charging Tax Policies: What You Need to Know

Kentucky will implement the kWh tax starting in January 2024. Station operators will need to report the total kilowatt-hours distributed, tax collected, and provide monthly payments to the state. Similar to Iowa, Montana introduced a $0.03 kWh tax in May 2023 for charging stations rated for 25kW or higher.
