Boone Pickens is spending tens of millions of dollars promoting CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) as the bridge fuel to get the U.S. The Arab oil embargo and price increases of the ‘70s pushed the U.S. Today, less than 2% of American electrons are produced with oil. One can’t, however, simply replace gas generation with wind.
