Nissan to make electic car batteries at Sunderland plant

The new rechargeable lithium-ion battery plant to based within Nissan’s established plant on Washington Road will be Nissan’s European Centre of Excellence for Battery Manufacturing. In Portugal, several possible sites for the battery plant have been identified and the final selection will be announced at a later date.
