Twenty units of the Audi A1 e-tron extended range electric vehicle ( earlier post ) are on the roads of the Munich pilot region in a fleet trial by partners Audi, E.ON, the public utility Stadtwerke München (SwM), and Technische Universität München (TUM). The Audi A1 e-tron is an electric car with a range extender.

By doing this, less energy will be used because it takes more energy to raise the temperature than maintain it.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) estimates that the current power grid could handle many tens of millions of cars plugging in at off-peak hours before wed have any capacity issues [See EPRI article PDF ]. Generally, theyll plug in at night.
