The Fisker Karma Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) ( earlier post ) will make its public driving debut during the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races on 15 August, 19 months after being unveiled as a concept car. It will be the first time a PHEV has appeared on track at the event. The Fisker Karma PHEV is an extended range electric vehicle.

Cadillac will add a Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) propulsion system to its upcoming range-topping CT6 sedan, to be manufactured at the new Shanghai GM Cadillac plant, Pudong Jinqiao, China. The new PHEV version of the CT6 will be capable of greater than 60 km (32.4 ELR is not offered in the Chinese market.).

GM posted sales of 4,244 Volt extended range electric vehicles in the US in the second quarter, representing an 8.4% Honda sold 46 units of the battery-electric Fit in Q1, and 45 units of the Accord PHEV plug-in hybrid. Of that figure, Tesla had about a 27% share, GM a 24% share, Nissan a 20% share and Toyota a 14% share.
