On Friday, the fleet of Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell electric vehicles involved in GM’s Project Driveway—the largest consumer fuel cell vehicle demonstration project to date ( earlier post )—passed the 1-million mile mark. The Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell electric vehicle is equipped with a GM fourth-generation, 93 kW fuel cell stack.

GM will introduce the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric vehicle with a starting MSRP of $41,000; after applying the Federal income tax credit of $7,500, the price drops to $33,500. The Volt has a total driving range of about 340 miles (547 km) and is powered by electricity at all times.
