Despite the engine being carried over from the 150 Series Prado (and others), we find an interesting change in pitch thanks to revised intake and exhaust manifolds that quietens the drama during heavy throttle applications. Sure, we’d have loved a more aggressive tyre, but for 90 per cent of buyers the standard setup is close to ideal.
