Rolls-Royce supplying two mtu gas engines for first LNG-hybrid tugboat

Rolls-Royce is supplying two mtu 16V 4000 M55RN gas engines to Sembcorp Marine Integrated Yard for the construction of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG)-hybrid powered tug. This is the first LNG-hybrid tug to be powered by mtu gas engines. The new engines are part of Rolls-Royce’s Green and High-Tech program.

Vitesco Technologies wins major order for electric heating elements for diesel catalytic converters in 48V MHEVs

Vitesco Technologies, formerly (until September 2019) the Continental Powertrain Division, has won a major contract from an European vehicle manufacturer for the supply of innovative electric heating elements for diesel catalytic converters. The 48 V current for the e-catalyst is obtained via recuperation in the vehicle’s mild hybrid system.

Mazda introduces series-hybrid plug-in version of MX-30 EV, with rotary engine genset

The Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV, a plug-in series hybrid model that uses a rotary engine as a generator, made its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show. The engine also adopts an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system to improve fuel efficiency. The MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV supports V2L (vehicle to load) power supply functionality.
