MAN Energy launches industry consortium to develop medium-speed, ammonia-fueled engine

Green Car Congress

Initiated by MAN with partners from industry and research institutes, it aims to define the steps necessary to produce a dual-fuel, medium-speed engine capable of running on diesel-fuel and ammonia. This will be done in close collaboration with MAN and will also form the basis for defining any requirements for exhaust-gas aftertreatment.

Empa and partners exploring DME as fuel with new heavy-duty test engine

Green Car Congress

The engine block is derived from a Cursor 11 commercial vehicle engine manufactured by FPT Industrial and has already served us for five years in various research projects. An electrically driven compressor for precise exhaust gas recirculation is also used. This is done via exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).

CICERO-led study finds global warming effect of leaked hydrogen almost 12x stronger than CO2

Green Car Congress

Unlike exhaust from burning coal and gas that contains CO 2 , burning hydrogen emits only water vapor and oxygen. Hydrogen is not a greenhouse gas, but its chemical reactions in the atmosphere affect greenhouse gases such as methane, ozone, and stratospheric water vapor. A global warming potential of 11.6 Skeie, R.B.,
