Mexico-based steel-maker Tyasa is building a compact steel mill that incorporates a new electric arc furnace from Siemens that reduces CO 2 emissions by up to 30% compared to conventional electric arc furnaces. The new system, which recovers energy from the hot exhaust gas, also reduces costs by around 20%.

Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) are similar to BEVs in that they have an electric-only powertrain, but they store energy differently. FCEVs store hydrogen gas in a tank rather than charging a battery. The fuel cell’s electricity then powers an electric motor, which drives the vehicle like a BEV.
