The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy today released the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which gives consumers information about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for model year 2010 vehicles. Each vehicle listing in the Fuel Economy Guide provides an estimated annual fuel cost.

The new transmissions, to be built in both front- and rear-wheel drive variants, will improve vehicle performance and increase fuel economy. Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co. Engineering teams from GM and Ford have already started initial design work on these new transmissions.
