A recent white paper by Leslie Bromberg of MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center and Wai K. Instead, crop-based ethanol has been promoted by the federal government (through tax incentives) as the transition fuel towards cellulosic bio-fuel production. Methanol from non-renewable coal or natural gas could be used as a bridging.
