A 27-tonne hydrogen fuel cell rigid truck built by VDL started its first demonstration with BREYTNER as part of the EU-funded H2-Share project in Schelluinen, the Netherlands. This gives our customers and us valuable knowledge on zero-emission transport solutions and will help us in taking the next steps towards more sustainable transport.

New statistics show that Volvo Trucks was the market leader for heavy all-electric trucks in Europe 2021 with a market share of 42%. Statistics from the market analysis group IHS Markit show that during 2021 a total of 346 electric trucks (?16 Volvo Trucks has the largest market share at 42%. Data: IHS Markit.

Volvo Trucks leads the market in Europe and in North America for heavy electric trucks after the first quarter of 2023. Now, its electric product range is being made available in new markets in Asia, Latin America and Africa. In total, the manufacturer has sold almost 5,000 electric trucks in about 40 countries.
