The city of Brighton UK) plans to install 20 Elektrobay roadside charging stations for plug-in electric vehicles (PEV) over the coming year. Brighton-based Elektromotive developed and manufacturers the innovative Elektrobay charging station, and will be responsible for the implementation of the project.

Elektromotive will complete the installation of its 100th Elektrobay charging station in London by the end of next month. There are already 80 Elektrobays in operation in the Capital, with another 40 installed in various locations across the UK. Elektromotive installed its first unit in Westminster in 2006.

UK-based Elektromotive has appointed The PluginCompany to install networks of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Belgium and Luxembourg. Pilot schemes will see the installation of 20 Elektrobay units in the two countries by the end of this year, ahead of further planned rollouts during 2010.

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology ( KAUST ), a new graduate-level research university located in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, has commissioned UK-based Elektromotive to install 150 Elektrobay charging stations across its campus by September 2009—one of the largest single EV infrastructure deals so far.

Renault and Netherlands-based Athlon Car Lease International will cooperate in the joint delivery of Electric Vehicle (EV)-solutions to their mutual clients. These vehicles feature technology which is very similar to that of the upcoming production cars which are currently being developed. Athlon supports Renault’s EV project.
